Annual Business Activities of Ameyoko Main Street
■ Environmental Improvement Projects
The Ameyoko Main Street Shopping District features stores on both sides of a 6-meter-wide public road. To prevent items displayed in front of the shops from obstructing pedestrian traffic, each store follows a self-regulated boundary line and actively participates in cleaning efforts. During the autumn fire prevention campaign, we conducted joint fire drills with the Ameyoko Shopping Street Association, Ueno Fire Department, and JR East Urban Development. Additionally, we provided guidance on proper garbage disposal at night and implemented preventive measures for bars and pubs.
■ Joint Facility Management Projects
We manage and clean the association’s information board installed on the wall beneath the Kasuga Street overpass. We are also considering the introduction of security cameras. In partnership with the Ameyoko Shopping Street Association, we perform maintenance on the entrance archway.
■ Event Projects
The annual Ameyoko Main Street Fortune Appreciation Sale was held on the first Saturday and Sunday of October. We hosted an on-site lottery using scratch cards, where all participants had a chance to win luxurious prizes, including original Ameyoko Main Street merchandise, with no losing tickets. We also organized a 100-yen sale at all stores, where all items sold out quickly, and the proceeds were fully donated.
■ Year-End Portable Shrine Security Project
Conduct year-end security patrols with the participation of association members.
■ New Year Beautification Project
To start the new year cleanly, association members clean the shopping district. This is a unique initiative of our association.
■ Welfare and Benefits Project
To deepen mutual understanding and friendship among association members, and to facilitate discussions for future business activities, we hold an annual social gathering.
Ameyoko Main Street Good Fortune Appreciation Sale
An event held over two days on the first weekend of October each year. With a purchase of 1,000 yen, participants can scratch a card to enter a grand lottery with no losing tickets, offering luxurious prizes worth up to 100,000 yen, including exclusive Ameyoko Main Street merchandise. Additionally, the highly popular "100-Yen Sale" is also held! The first 25 customers at participating stores can buy items valued at 1,000 yen or more for just 100 yen. It’s an exciting sale where you never know which store will start the sale first. Proceeds from the event are donated to support disaster relief efforts.
